The Opulent, Sun-Dried Salento Dessert Masterpiece

Deep, opaque ruby-violet with garnet reflections. The nose is intoxicatingly rich and complex, bursting with aromas of fig jam, dried black cherries, dark chocolate, sweet pipe tobacco, cinnamon, and dried red plum. Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, offering a plush, sweet entry balanced by surprising freshness, firm tannins, and an endlessly warm, spiced finish.

⭐⭐⭐ (Sits around 15% ABV with rich natural residual sugar. It's meant for slow sipping by the glass after a long meal, so moderate consumption keeps the head happy)

Aged Pecorino Pugliese or Caciocavallo, dark chocolate tarts, almond pastries (pasticciotto), blue cheese, or enjoyed simply on its own as a meditation wine (vino da meditazione).

Uncorking a true DOCG Dolce Naturale on its home turf in Puglia is a world away from mass-produced commercial Primitivos that just dump sugar into dry wine. Produttori di Manduria dries these grapes right on the bush, creating a rich, velvety nectar packed with fig, dark chocolate, and spiced cherry notes. It's thick, hedonistic, and wonderfully complex without feeling cloying. Pour a small glass alongside some sharp local cheese and dark chocolate after dinner to see what southern Italian dessert wine is really about.
