Mandrarossa Frappato (2025) (Terre Siciliane IGT)
Mandrarossa / Terre Siciliane IGP, Sicily, Italy

The Perfumed, Strawberry-and-Spice Chilled Island Red
Bright, translucent ruby-red in the glass. The nose is extraordinarily fragrant and lifted, bursting with aromas of fresh wild strawberries, tart red cherries, crushed rose petals, white pepper, and a subtle hint of fresh sage. Light-to-medium-bodied on the palate with silky, feather-light tannins, vibrant refreshing acidity, and a clean, snappy, red-fruit-driven finish.
⭐ (Sitting at around 12.5% to 13% ABV and stainless-steel aged with zero heavy oak extraction, it is exceptionally fresh, light on its feet, and gentle on the head).
Seared tuna, charcuterie boards, roasted Mediterranean vegetables, light pastas, or a slight chill before serving on a warm afternoon.
If you think all southern Italian reds are heavy, oak-soaked monsters, Mandrarossa’s Frappato will completely reset your expectations. It’s essentially Sicily’s answer to Pinot Noir or Beaujolais—packed with bright wild strawberries, crunchy red cherries, and floral spice. Toss it in the fridge for 20 minutes before pouring, and you have an absolute joy of a wine that pairs with almost anything and drinks way too easily.
