Ledà d'Ittiri Alghero Cagnulari Riserva DOC (2023)
Azienda Vitivinicola Ledà d'Ittiri / Alghero, Alghero Cagnulari DOC, Sardinia, Italy

The Rare, Dark-Fruited Coastal Heritage Red
Deep ruby-red with rich violet and garnet reflections. The nose is intense, complex, and wild, opening with aromas of ripe blackberries, black plums, cracked black pepper, Mediterranean scrub (macchia), subtle leather, and sweet vanillin oak spice. Medium-to-full-bodied on the palate with a structured, velvety frame, vibrant balancing acidity, and a long, savory, spice-accented finish.
⭐ (Cleanly vinified with well-managed extraction, keeping the natural rustic edges polished and gentle on the head).
Roasted suckling pig (porceddu), grilled lamb chops, wild boar ragù, or aged pecorino sardo.
If you only know Sardinian reds for Cannonau, Cagnulari is the brilliant curveball you need to taste. It’s got that dark, juicy blackberry punch and wild herbal streak, but with a structural backbone and savory complexity that makes it stand out entirely on its own. Drinking a Riserva expression right on the estate where the vines grow gives you an incredible window into Alghero's red wine potential.
