The Flabby Overly Jammy Bulk Dispenser

Dull, heavy brick-red color. The nose is aggressively dominated by stewed plums, overripe blackberries, and a heavy, raisin-like sweetness with an undercurrent of rustic alcohol. On the palate, it feels flat, thick, and syrupy, completely lacking the vibrant, snappy acidity needed to clean up the finish, leaving a cloying, heavy dark-fruit aftertaste.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Between the low acidity, the heavy residual fruit sugars of a hot-climate over-ripened crop, and the sheer volume potential of a 2-liter bottle, this is a fast track to a heavy head the next morning).

Heavy, highly spiced meats that can completely drown out the wine, or perhaps using the remaining 1.9 liters to mix up a massive batch of Sangria with plenty of fresh citrus.

Hey, they can't all be winners. Even if you put aside a personal bias against Merlot's naturally plush tendencies, this jug version takes the grape's worst traits and magnifies them. The intense southern Albanian heat has baked these grapes into a corner, yielding a profile that tastes less like a balanced table red and more like a heavy, alcoholic plum jam. Without any real tannin structure or bright acid to cut through the weight, it just sits flat on the tongue. Every slow-travel journey comes with a few misses, and this bulk jug is a firm pass.
