Kantina Bejko Chardonnay (2024)
Kantina Bejko / Përmet (Southern Albania)

Sun-Ripened Valley White
Luminous, pale straw-yellow color with clear, bright reflections. The nose is highly accessible and clean, bursting with aromas of ripe golden apple, juicy yellow peach, and a distinct hint of tropical pineapple, backed by a subtle background of white blossoms. Crisp and beautifully light on the palate, with a well-balanced line of fresh acidity and a smooth, completely dry finish.
⭐ (Fermented strictly in stainless steel with no oak influence. It sits at a highly approachable 12.5% ABV as printed on the label, making it very clean and easy on the system).
Grilled white fish, garlic-butter shrimp, fresh green salads with light vinaigrettes, or a platter of local, mildly salty white goat cheeses.
If you're a fan of clean, crisp, unoaked Chardonnays, this Albanian bottle is exactly your speed. By avoiding heavy wood aging, Bejko lets the natural fruit do all the talking. Thanks to the heavy dose of southern Albanian sunshine the vines receive, the orchard fruit notes lean wonderfully ripe and juicy, while the wine stays snappy, refreshing, and bone-dry on the tail end. It is a fantastic, unpretentious patio white that hits the spot when chilled ice-cold.
