Giuseppe Sedilesu Sartiu Cannonau di Sardegna DOC (2022)
Giuseppe Sedilesu / Mamoiada, Barbagia, Cannonau di Sardegna DOC, Sardinia, Italy

The Rugged, Granite-Grown Mountain Cannonau Powerhouse
Intense ruby-red shifting toward garnet at the rim. The nose is warm, deeply aromatic, and rustic, opening with notes of ripe dark cherries, wild blackberries, crushed myrtle berries, sweet Mediterranean scrub, and cracked black pepper. Medium-to-full-bodied on the palate with firm yet velvety tannins, vibrant mountain acidity, and a long, warm, spice-accented finish.
⭐⭐ (Sits around 14.5% ABV. Though it possesses substantial warmth and alcohol, its clean organic farming and neutral wood aging keep it balanced when enjoyed alongside a rustic, hearty dinner).
Porceddu (Sardinian roast suckling pig), roasted lamb with rosemary, wild boar stew, aged Pecorino Sardo, or wild mushroom ragù.
If you want to know what real, unvarnished Barbagia red wine tastes like, Giuseppe Sedilesu is the gold standard in Mamoiada. Sartiu is everything a high-altitude Cannonau should be—packed with ripe dark berries, wild mountain herbs, and a savory pepper note that comes straight from granite soils. It’s rich, warm, and authentic, with zero artificial makeup.
