Coto de Imaz Reserva 2021
El Coto de Rioja (Oyón, Spain)

The Special Occasion (Tuesday)
Huge aromas of blackberries and red plums. There’s a distinct "expensive bakery" smell—vanilla, toasted bread, and cocoa. It’s smooth and silky but definitely has more "oomph" and power than the Crianza.
⭐⭐ (A sophisticated wine, but it’s 14% ABV, so stay hydrated).
Roast lamb, a thick beef steak, or very mature Manchego cheese. Also pairs well with realizing you still haven't checked your work email in three weeks.
This is a "proper" Rioja. It’s got that classic oaky vanilla hit that makes you feel like you’re sitting in a library with leather-bound books, even if you’re actually just in a camper van. It’s velvety, rich, and dangerously easy to finish.
